A global supplier of Hygiene Products – Personal Care wanted to implement an uniform organisation wide leadership methodology and way of executing the HR performance management system for all personnel. At the same time they wanted to set up a programme in which managers at all levels, both white collar as well as blue collar, would be trained simultaneously. As a result of that they would have to spend time together, outside the day to day work environment, and create a better understanding of each other's situation and at the same time increase their knowledge and skills with regards to the leadership methodology. A unique combination, but because of the possibility to customize the programme certainly doable.

In consultation with management a programme was composed consisting of two days training in which, in addition to teaching the necessary knowledge and skills, the specific points of interest and role plays were incorporated. All managers were trained within a couple of months.

The result of this training is that next to the flawless implementation of a uniform leadership methodology, including the HR performance management system, all involved have experienced “the other side of the story”. As a result of the interactive approach many prejudices have evaporated and the casual approach has resulted in a more positive collaboration between “office” and “plant”, white and blue collar, since there is more awareness regarding each other’s situation and point of view. This awareness leads directly to an efficiency improvement. Employees in general have stated that they experience a more structured leadership approach and also an unbiased and clear execution of the HR performance management system, something they previously only experienced with some of the managers.
